The Safety, Health & Survival Section (SHS) is growing and a great opportunity exists to play your part in its future. The section is calling for all members interested in holding office to participate in this year’s elections. These offices are open:
Three director-at-large positions: 3-year terms (2017–2020)
One director-at-large position: Special Election, 2-year-term (2017–2019)
In an effort to consolidate the IAFC and section elections, the SHS election timeline will change in 2017. Anyone interested in running for the SHS board of directors must submit the required candidate information by February 24.
To be placed on the ballot as a candidate for the SHS board, you must provide the following information. (These items are required or your candidacy will be disqualified!)
Officers of the Section’s Board of Directors must be non-retired, current, Regular Section and IAFC members at the time of their candidacy and, if elected, must maintain IAFC and Section membership for the duration of their term. Regular section members are eligible to hold office in the section.
Your name, address, phone, fax and email address
A statement explaining your background and why you desire to be a board member in 300 words or less; this statement will be included on the online ballot and also on the SHS website
Your department name and department phone number
Your position/title in that department
Your supervisor’s name, contact numbers and email address so we may verify your information
Your resume (One Page)
Your division and IAFC number
All the above candidate information must be received by Friday, February 24, 5 PM ET.
